How Has Globalization Changed Indonesia ?

               Some scientists argue that globalization is a life process that connects all nations and countries in the world to a new life order that can erase geographic, economic and socio-cultural boundaries. Globalization in socio-cultural life is related to the process of socialization and cross-cultural processes between nations. Indonesians socio-cultural life has changed by the drawback of globalization

               The first obvious change is the fading of local cultural values. Presence of foreign cultural in a country can influence the fading of its local cultural values. For example, manners that become cultural values ​​in Indonesia have been removed by nation's youth because of the incessant influence of western culture. As result, traditional clothes of ethnic are rarely used because society prefer to dress such their idol.

            The second change can be observed from the disappearance of traditional arts. Slack of public interest towards traditional arts can cause extinction of traditional arts. The presence of new and modern entertainment is considered more attractive for society so the traditional arts which not renewed will be no longer desirable by public.

The third change could be seen through the defectiveness of society morals. Bad influences from abroad which always displayed on social media could be accessed and affected the viewer easily. For instance, in this modern era there are some Indonesian society imitate western culture and lifestyle such as free sex, alcohol and drugs that strongly not in accordance with norms in Indonesian society.

In conclusion, the backwards of globalization lead significant change toward Indonesians socio-cultural life such as change of local cultural values, existence of traditional arts, and society morals. It also could harm on both society and country, so the Indonesians youth need special attention aims to maintain the socio-cultural heritage of Indonesian nation.
